Use existing PitStop Preflight Profiles and Action Lists

Action Lists are sequences of automated tasks performed in a specific order. Perfect for repetitive operations, they streamline processes like fixing fonts or adjusting layouts. Once created, they can be reused to maintain consistency across projects.

Preflight Profiles are essential for verifying the quality of PDF files. These profiles consist of criteria that define whether a document is ready for output. Each criterion can be customized to suit your needs:

• If it should be checked or not
• How it should be listed in the Preflight Report, i.e. “Warning” or “Error”
• How the problem, if any, should be fixed

Automated PDF preflight & correction

How exactly does preflighting work in Enfocus PitStop Server? The typical stages in a preflight check are the following:

1. In your Hot Folder setup, select the Preflight Profile you want to use.
2. Note that you can create, edit or import other Preflight Profiles than the default ones, via the Preflight Profile panel (Window > Preflight).
3. Place PDF documents in the input folder (defined in your Hot Folder setup) to have them checked and fixed automatically.
4. Enfocus PitStop Server checks the PDF documents and depending on the Preflight Profile fixes problems, if any. It generates a Preflight
5. Report and saves the Report in a log folder.
6. If necessary, re-check the PDF document until it is output-ready and can be taken to the final output stage, e.g., for print, press or online viewing.

PDF transparency flattening

PitStop Server now includes built-in transparency flattening, ensuring consistent and reliable results across all output devices. While modern RIPs can handle transparencies effectively, many older print engines still struggle with them. By flattening transparencies during prepress, PitStop Server eliminates potential rendering issues and guarantees that your PDFs output exactly as expected—every time.

PDF Color Management

Enfocus PitStop Server allows you to configure color management using either a unified profile for all objects or separate profiles for images. When using a single profile, a single tab is available to manage color settings for the entire document. If separate profiles are chosen, two tabs appear—one for image-specific color management and another for all other objects.

Enfocus PitStop Server lets you define both source and destination ICC profiles for the following color models:

• Gray
• RGB
• CMYK
• Lab

These ICC profiles are applied during color conversions between models—for example, converting RGB elements into CMYK—ensuring consistent color reproduction across different output workflows.
